Don't let a weekend and holiday sabotage your efforts. Have fun and don't hold regrets, but when the holiday is over prep and move on. It's a new week. Let's start off healthy!

You only fail when you throw in the towel.

I often talk about success, and about having success with your health and fitness and in your life.

But what does having success actually look like, or what does it take to get there?

That’s where things truly get dynamic.

You see, success is exclusively dependent on your goal.

For instance, having a goal of maintenance see...

I first saw this advertisement on TV 1 week ago. I have an achilles heel for dairy Queen.
This blizzard honestly brings happiness to me every time I see the TV commercial... it is funny how we are wired as humans emotionally, and that is why we can often be weak when it comes to food and choices. A quick fix of ice cream brings instant satisfaction.

This is an email reply to a question I received from someone who attends my classes.

The questions was in a nutshell, if someone can only attend classes twice per week, what are some other things they can do at home (strength? Cardio?) to reach a goal of looking lean and toned.

This person has some common fitness equipment at home, such as dumbbells and an ellipt...

I can say something super motivating to kick off January, but who honestly ever got motivated by something they read online. Bottom line, we should all strive for whatev

er makes us happy. Sometimes a moment of happiness does not support this. Sometimes to be truly happy with yourself, it takes sacrifice...it takes hard work. You may struggle, you may fail, you...

I have wanted many things to happen for myself. But wanting, setting goals, and achieving goals are all very different.

We can use our mind to make bad situations good, or stress fade away, with a simple change of thought or action. However, we can also let our minds crush us, by making things we should let go, weigh us down.

After having spent the la...

How can you prepare yourself to kick butt in your next workout and keep kicking butt?

Warm ups don't need to be long, but you should shoot for 5-10 minutes, and include both foam rolling and dynamic exercise.

Foam rolling is like therapeutic massage: it can remove knots in the muscle, as well as trigger points, and scar tissue.
Shoot for 8-10 rolls per body part

It is the middle of winter, New Year’s resolution optimism is over, and it is easy to be back to being stuck in the mud. F*** it, time to give up I guess. Whoa whoa whoa, not yet…hold on!

It is said that life is like a marathon, but few people have the pit bull mentality to continually grind it out, and bulldog their way through. Do you give up?

Life is more like...

We all have our own obstacles. As I face another setback after my surgery, I think about how I was able to fall in love with keeping fit in the first place.
I consider my journey to be a mixture of success in both life, fitness and my health (mental, physical, spiritual, emotional).
In this first picture down below, I had been working out for over 10 years,...
